Description
This is a beautiful vintage covered dish by Imperial Glass, made in the 1960's as a reproduction of a late 1880's Atterbury patented design. The design features a lid with a reclining lion as the handle, done in a satin amber, with a base made of glossy amber glass. The base features an interwoven lace edge and is footed. The piece is oval in shape at 7-3/4" long and 6-1/8" wide. It's about 6-1/2" tall at the highest part of the lion. Both the lid and the base carry the Imperial Glass mark used from 1951 into the 1970's. In addition, the base has the original sticker on the inside stating that the piece is a "Genuine Reproduction by Imperial". It's rare to find this sticker intact.
This piece is in wonderful condition with no chips, cracks, breaks, or fleabites. It has great detail and there are few, if any, marks or scratches. The sticker is in very good condition as well. See high resolution photos for more.
