THE BATTLE OF ANTIETAM / DUNKER CHURCH -
Relic condition small 13mm Flat Brass Cuff Button with shank (bent), possibly worn on the shirt by a soldier of either side
This Relic condition small 13mm Flat Brass Cuff Button with shank (bent), possibly worn on the shirt by a soldier of either side,
was recovered close to the Dunker Church at Antietam in the 1960s. The Dunker Church is, perhaps, the most famous building on the Antietam battlefield and was at the heart of the morning's fight. I acquired this artifact more than a decade ago, but it has been stored away until "rediscovered" last summer. A provenance letter will be included.
