Berkeley Models Aeronca C-3 with 54" Wingspan. This model was designed for .99 for R/C (escapement), .074 for FF or .15 for CL. I actually built this model as a 3 channel electric. I used an Eflite 450 with Eflite 30 Amp Pro SB ESC for power, Futaba R617FS 7 channel recvr, Futaba S3114 mini servos for elevator and rudder. As most parts were missing when I bought the kit, I fabricated everything; wing ribs, fuselage formers, etc. From the full size plans I made copies for building the model. As a result the full size plans are still included with some hardware, balsa and decal set. So if you know how to scratch build, this is for you. As you can see, I've included quite a few pictures to show you some idea of where I positioned the servos, motor and esc. The battery fits in the cockpit nicely and is secured with a single rubber band. the wing is also secured with rubber bands. I also have a few other picture that show how much you counter balance was required and how I actually fit it forward of the cockpit as the model was a little tail heavy.
The C-3 turned out to be a really beautiful electric flyer and only required about half throttle for flight after altitude was reached. It is a gentle flying model and lands beautifully. It is a real crowd pleaser since it is such an odd looking aircraft.
