Dug Civil War Period Federal Eagle Sash Buckle

Neat Civil War period Federal Eagle style sash buckle. Made of thin brass it is as found on private property with the landowners permission. It is 1 and 5/8 inches by 2 inches. It has damage and is incomplete but I have never found anything else of this size. Much smaller and lighter than the average belt buckle may have been for a different purpose just my best guess
