EDCO (Engineering Development Co., Inc.) Paul Mantz "Junior" U-Control Airplane Kit.  Manufactured at Del Mar Airport, California, likely in the late forties or early fifties.
Wing Span - 18"
Length - 19"
Box top indicates "Designed by Paul Mantz", the famous air race and stunt pilot, who lost his life during the filming of "The Flight of the Phoenix".  Plans drawn by R.L. Miller.  Box shows storage wear and is missing a portion of the top flap, but it will still display nicely.  Appears to be complete and that the parts have never been removed from the box, but please note that the pieces have not been inventoried.  The two page plan and decals (which are curled from age) are included.  This is a rare crossover collectible, associated with one of the most famous pilots in history - don't miss it!  No returns on this item.  See our other auctions for more vintage wood airplane kits.
