Bevo Howard
BUCKER JUNGMEISTER
UC
scale model of his aerobatic plane that hangs in the Smithsonian.
This great UC model plane
PLAN
is a tribute to the late Bevo Howard, who was a world famous aerobatic pilot in the 1960s in his red and white
BUCKER JUNGMEISTER
biplane.
Bevo was President of Hawthorne School of Aeronautics, which was the U.S. Army's contract flight school when Pop went through Primary Flight Training in 1960. As a young 2nd Lieutenant at Fort Rucker, AL, Pop narrated an Air Show in which Bevo and his magnificent plane were the featured aerobatic act.
(My last picture is of Pop’s flight school diploma that is signed by Bevo Howard.)
This is the only model
PLAN
of Bevo's famous
JUNGMEISTER
I know of. The original model has an 18-1/2" span and used a McCoy .09 engine. A Cox Golden Bee would do fine today. I also enlarged the plan to a 33" span size as an additional offering with this listing. The larger plan would do fine with .09--.15 engines.
I include a copy of the original
construction
article
with these
plans
.
As a
BONUS
I also include a copy of a very nice article on aerobatics and air-circus history. Written just one year after man stepped foot on the moon, this vintage piece will take your mind to airshows of days gone by.
