Navy Eagle with Anchor, Rope & Stars Button, Gilded
Albert NA112A, but with different maker
RMDC - raised mark in depressed channel
Mark: can just make out Horstmann & Allien
Diameter: 22.75 mm (SEE PHOTO)
Albert notes 23mm as pre-1850 and that "There are many
post 1850 makers and variants, as this pattern was in use
until 1941".
Eagle facing left
Type II - convex 2 piece button
Border and circle of rope plus 13 stars
Upper fluke of anchor behind left wing
Brazed loop shank
Button has very nice amount of detail, gilding and patina.
No dents. Brazed loop shank very straight and solid.
