ORIGINAL VINTAGE RETURN OF THE JEDI “STARFALL” POSTER!
Japanese B2 Poster from the 1983 Release of Return of the Jedi.
Ultra Rare Yamakatsu poster with art by Noriyoshi Ohrai or Orai or Olai.
    B2 Size:
    Japanese B2 Posters are approx. 20" x 29" or 51 cm x 73 cm
This is a rolled Poster.  This is the original Yamakatsu poster!
This is not one of the many crappy Ohrai reproductions for sale on eBay!
Poster is in Very Good condition.
However, it is not Mint or Fine.
I bought this Poster directly from a Collector in Japan many years ago.
Again, Poster is rolled, but at some point it was displayed.
There are tiny pin-holes in each corner.
The tiny sticker was taken off by the previous owner, as he felt that it “belittled” the beauty of the Poster.
He was going to have it linen-backed and framed, but never got around to it.
When he decided he was not going to do this, he finally decided to sell it to me.
Note that when the Poster was shipped to me, one of the corners got folded; as such, there is now a fold at the top-left-corner.
It is not that bad, but it is visible.
I am selling this as Collector to Collector, so I want any prospective buyer to be aware of it.
This poster has been laying flat for many years on acid-free backing.
If you want more detailed pictures, please feel free to contact me.
    This is very very rare.
The “Starfall” Poster has regularly been selling in the 00.00 to 00.00 range.
I have been collecting Star Wars Items since 1977.
    This is
    a poster that
    is 38 years old
    .
This is an investment quality piece.  The value of this will
    only increase with time.
This is one of the most highly prized Star Wars posters. It was extremely difficult to find in Japan even at the time of Return of the Jedi’s release in 1983. The brilliant artwork is a monumental favorite among collectors.
    Info:
One of the most sought-after Star Wars posters by collectors is the painfully obscure Return of the Jedi "Starfall" commemorative print published by Japan's Yamakatsu company in 1983. This stunning artwork, executed by Japan's premiere trilogy poster artist Noriyoshi Ohrai, depicts the stalwart droids R2-D2 and C-3PO against a fiery nebulous sky, flanked by the blaze of Jedi and Sith lightsabers.
More than any other poster, this one speaks to the Star Wars saga as a whole, as the droids represent the common thread throughout the nine chapter story. The droids and saber blades are brilliantly realized, elevating the visual appeal of Ohrai's art to new highs.
The "Starfall" Poster as named by collectors was hard to obtain even when it was printed in 1983. This premium poster was given away to purchasers of the Return of the Jedi Yamakatsu trading card sets.
I stole this from a Star Wars Movie Poster Website:
Do you have a Japanese Return of the Jedi Yamakatsu "Starfall" poster for sale? Or know anyone who does?
    Simply put - "No.”
This Japanese premium poster is the most requested e-mail that we get. Back in 1983, the poster started out as a rare item,
but it was not as incredibly rare as it has become today
. This rare Japanese poster is one of the most favorite artwork posters (by Noriyoshi Ohrai) that Star Wars poster collectors often seek. Our suggestion to you on finding this poster is to watch the eBay auctions (2 of them were listed for sale in the last 2 years).
The Star Wars Poster Book, pages 162 and 163:
    OHRAI “STARFALL” / Japan / 1983
Noriyoshi Ohrai created a beautiful illustration for this Yamakatsu premium poster from Japan.
It was produced in very small quantities and
was hard to find even the year it was printed
    .
A rough composition for the poster, known to collectors as “Starfall,” was included in a portfolio of prints Ohrai did for Return of the Jedi.
    1. The poster is currently bagged on acid-free backing to make it easier to show to prospective buyers.  It is not dry-mounted, linen-backed, or paper-backed.
    2.  If you have a friend who (A) is big-time into collecting rare Star Wars Posters, or (B) the artwork of Noriyoshi Ohrai, or (C) has been looking for this extremely sought-after poster . . . please forward this auction to them!
With the current success of the Force Awakens AND Rouge One . . . the value of this premium poster will
    only increase with time.
Poster will be shipped in an ultra-sturdy tube wrapped in quality paper.
PayPal only.  Due to the extreme rarity of this Poster, Payment expected within 1 day after the end of the auction
    .

    :
Sorry to bother you, but as a fellow owner of one of these posters I just wanted to commend you on how much you stress the rarity of this poster in your description. Not everyone understands just how rare this is. It took me over 10 years to purchase this poster after searching ebay and the rest of the internet for one, and at the time I knew many people within the community that collected extremely rare items. I hope you get the money this poster deserves, and if I could afford it right now I would consider grabbing it for myself. Good luck!
