    Description

    An extremely fine example of a gilded 2 piece pre Civil War or Civil War period State of Virginia button Albert# VA-7-A-4.  Backmark reads "  W. H. SMITH  &  CO  *  NEW-YORK  *  ".    Some of the gilded finish remains.   Button measures 22.58mm.  See photos for condition details.
