to build a 43" span Lindbergh NYP
SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS
for the 93
rd
Anniversary of his world-changing solo flight across the Atlantic from NY to Paris.
This nice
SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS
PLAN
by Henry Struck was intended for free flight or UC scale using an O.K. Cub .049. I enlarged the original
PLAN
to a 43" span size that allows the use of any .10 gas or electric equivalent power. You can see on the
PLAN
that the original fuselage construction was stick & tissue covering. However, the 3 other sets of
PLANS
I have each call for sheet sides, top and bottom. So this model can so quickly be made by going with full sheet sides box construction.
I include copies of TWO
construction
articles
for this same model that appeared in both Air Trails and KAPA Kollector magazines. I include
very nice 3-view scale documentation
to help you add any scale details you might want.
AS A
BONUS
I ALSO INCLUDE A LARGE ENHANCED CUTAWAY SUPPLEMENT
OF
THE SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS
SUITABLE FOR FRAMING.
Bob Dively used to offer a 9-cylinder, 4" diameter plastic radial engine that I bought to use on my model. If that is not still available, some of the fine RC scale radial engine kits that we see advertised might sell their plastic radial engines separately. The Williams Bros. vintage 2-1/2" wheels, while about an 1/8th of an inch wider than shown on the
PLAN
, will add a real touch of scale realism.
I also have Walter Musciano's NYP model plan that has a symmetrical airfoil and is listed as an Old Time Stunt model.
I can list that one separately if you would like a copy.
I AM NOT SELLING A KIT

only great copies of this vintage model
